Mana 23rd February.

After a morning lounging around by the pool decided to take a snorkelling tour, out to a more interesting reef.

First off the most 'terrifying' speed boat journey.
No warning, "hang on to you belongings" or indeed "hang on to the boat". Just suddenly, we were off. Two of us, a Japanese lady, me, plus the boat driver and snorkel guide. Out to sea, which was pretty rough. then inland to the other side of the island.

When we finally came to a halt, instructions from guide were "follow me" and off he went. So off we went into the water to the most amazing reef, with every colour fish, hundreds of them. Dutifully followed guide, who didn't seem to be paying much attention as to whether we were there or not.

Turned round a few minutes later to sea the boat disappear at speed into the distance. Panic,"my bag", surely it would not stay put in the boat at that speed. plus we were fairly far out from shore at this point, glad I had a life jacket on.

Eventually, managed to get guides attention. The boat?" Oh,it will be back soon. Tried to allay my panic about bag and get on and enjoy the snorkelling, which an was amazing spectacle.

Eventually boat returns, bag intact.  However , the boat ride back was even more terrifying, I think the driver and guide were quite enjoying the terror they were evoking in their passengers!!!! Somehow I don't think health and safety has reached these shores.

On reflection a fun afternoon!!! Funny how these things can seem fun, once there over!!!
