Sydney -Auckland 22nd January.

An early start for the airport today. Flight delays....... Finally arriving in Auckland about 5pm........out of the airport 6.30pm ish, to be met by Yola and her two daughters. Back to Yola's...... bike to unpack..... can't quite remember what I packed in these boxes!! Just enough time to prepare to leave for 6am start. Dinner with Yola and her family(a few glasses of wine....maybe not the best idea). A little stressful, but exciting.

      On to the next stage of my journey, a six hour coach ride north to Kaitaia. Then tomorrow morning I join a tour group that will take me on to Cape Reinga, the furthest point north of north island. Finally then I can start my ride south. Me and bike raring to go!!!
