Marathon -Seminole State Park 31st March

81 Miles.

 Wow, today was brutal!!!!

Started the day with a puncture. This was before I had even got out of camp. On changing the tube I couldn't find the cause, always a worry.

Second flat 20 + miles down the road. After much searching finally found what I thought was the cause, a small thorn. Day getting increasingly tough with a head wind and chip seal road surface (chip-seal, very slow surface to ride on).

A further 20 or 30 Miles on notice the tyre is slowly going down again, this time resort to pumping it up and carrying on.

By now the head wind is very strong. Stopped at a store 18 miles from camp, had an ice cream and stocked up on water.

The last 18 miles felt like 40, fighting against the wind and dealing with road surface, pretty tired when I finally got to camp.

Then needed to further investigate tyre. At last found tiny piece of wire embedded in the rubber.

Dead snake along the road, not sure what it was.
