Brawley Ca- Palo Verde Ca 9th March

70 miles.
Set off at 7.30am, as expected temperature was 90 degrees.
Very warm and quite hilly ride.

I was stopped at a border patrol crossing today. Asked if I was a US citizen and when realised not, was asked for passport and visa.
I Asked the guard if I could take his photo for the blog, sternly refused!!!

Only one store on the ride in a tiny place called Glamis.

Arrived in Palo Verde(also small, pop 171) just after 2pm. Met by site manager,(picture below) by the name of Cotton, he is from Mississippi.

Dip in the lake on arrival, lovely and cool, if a little muddy under foot.

Treated yet again to great evening meal, tonight cooked by Matt and Jim.
